Tevosol
Ex-vivo perfusion is poised to transform organ transplantation over the next 10 years by significantly increasing the number of organs viable for transplant, reducing the wait for an organ transplant and improving the outcomes of those receiving a transplant.
The EVOSS™ portable transplant technology extends the organ’s “ex-vivo” life by keeping the organ warm and supplied with oxygen as if it is still in the body.
Tevosol approached me to help them move their proof of concept into a design which could be used for clinical trials.
The technology we were working with was still being perfected and I had to design a system that would not only support multiple organs in the future, but would accept the changing parameters as we designed.
I developed a sub-frame system that allowed for easy reconfiguration and addition of components internally. The body of the device and organ chamber remained fixed in their design fairly early on.
